About Me

I’m Roudolf Dimov, a London-based tattoo artist specialising in black and grey realism and surrealism. With nearly a decade of experience, I’ve developed a style that blends technical precision with storytelling, creating tattoos that are both visually powerful and deeply personal.

My Journey into Art and Tattooing

I was born in Bulgaria and grew up in Greece, where art became part of my life from a very young age. At 18, I decided to pursue drawing seriously, and four years later, I moved to London to study fine art. I was accepted into London Metropolitan University, where I completed a BA in Painting in 2021.

While studying, I began my tattoo apprenticeship in 2018, combining classical training in drawing and painting with the craft of tattooing. After graduation, I continued exploring fine art at London Fine Art Studios in Battersea, while also pushing myself in tattooing through conventions across the UK. In 2024, I attended around ten tattoo conventions and proudly won 1st place in Black and Grey Realism in Galway.

My Tattoo Style

My style naturally developed into realism and surrealism. From portraits to mythology-inspired pieces, I focus on tattoos that carry meaning beyond the obvious. For me, tattooing isn’t just about copying an image — it’s about creating art that fits the body and tells a story unique to the wearer.

I often work on large-scale projects like sleeves, back pieces, and leg tattoos, drawing inspiration from classical art, mythology, symbolism, and personal narratives. Every tattoo is designed from scratch — I don’t copy existing tattoos, and I make sure each piece is tailored to my client.

Beyond Tattooing

Tattooing is my main focus, but my love for art goes beyond the studio. I create oil paintings, charcoal sketches, and watercolour works, often exploring themes of mythology, life, and emotion. These practices feed into my tattoo work, helping me push creativity further and bring more depth to each design.

Working With Clients

When you book with me, you’re not just getting a tattoo — you’re starting a collaboration. Every design is a one-off, built around your idea, your body, and your story. My goal is to make the whole process — from consultation to healed tattoo — as comfortable and rewarding as possible.

All of my tattoo work takes place at Sacred Gold Tattoo in King’s Cross, London — you can find directions and more details on the Studio Location page.
